Should they be combined or not since IMDB they are the same series? Moreover, in Wikipedia it is a continuing story.

The original broadcaster is the BBC who separate them. Consequently, as per our rules, we should separate them.

Sorry to re-open this: what is the ID for the new show? There was an ID (239832) listed for the title "Doctor Who (2023-)". However, that ID doesn't seem to be available any longer. A search for "Doctor Who" via the API returns the previous ID (57243) item, along with other related items, but not the new show. (Previously it did list that show, which is where I got the ID and name - then it disappeared in subsequent searches.)

This is originally a BBC show. So, the BBC is the KING. The BBC has decided to split and create a new show. We need to do the same.

The BBC considers it a new show legally and financially because the production company has changed and the show-runners have changed (even though they were involved with rebooting of the franchise earlier). David Tenant's Doctor and his Companion's returns for the Specials are more extended cameos than anything.

Sure, it would be easier for us all if this show was merged with the old one. But the 2005 show wasn't merged with the original, either, so the same sort of thing applies. This is a new version of the show.

Doctor Who is not a new series. BBC is not presenting this as a new series. It just makes it look like a new series. I think your listing is incorrect. No database other than TMDB considers it a new series. (IMDB, TVDB, Wikipedia, etc.) Platform, players, operation are the same. BBC made such a decision just for marketing purposes, the series is the same. I think you should reconsider your decision. Even an external link cannot be added to the page you call the new Doctor Who. Because IMDB, TVDB, Wikipedia do not see Doctor Who as a new series. In a series with so many fans, I hope you will fix this confusion as soon as possible.

The BBC list it on a separate series page. So, we need to do the same.

The Production company has changed. Financially, it's a new series.

Wikipedia notes:

"The series originally ran from 1963 to 1989. There was an unsuccessful attempt to revive regular production in 1996 with a backdoor pilot in the form of a television film titled Doctor Who. The series was relaunched in 2005 and was produced in-house by BBC Wales in Cardiff. Since 2023, the show has been co-produced by Bad Wolf and BBC Studios Productions in Cardiff."

Honestly this is the most stubborn and stupid logic I have ever seen, the BBC have indeed created a ‘new series’ webpage for this show, but it is still categorised by them and Wikipedia and every sensible human being with an IQ north of 50 as being series 14. Whilst the show runners and financial team has changed almost nothing else has (cast aside) its is still made by BBC Wales, in Wales The HAVOC this ‘jobsworth’ attitude is having on things like trakt, IMDb and frankly the general fan base that make this site a success is without measure. This ERROR has literally infuriated me this evening and ruined (to the point I have turned off tv and am going to bed , at 10pm (instead of enjoying a show I have watched for 57 years)

And additionally the production team hasn’t changed, it’s been added to. It was and still is BBC Wales, just Bad Wolf (who are basically the people who started Doctor Who 2005 reboot) are now partnering with BBC Wales
