Mitu en Elena leren elkaar kennen tijdens een wodka-drinkwedstrijd en ontdekken dat ze allebei ontevreden zijn over de status quo. Mitu staat op het punt in militaire dienst te gaan en Elena gaat trouwen met een man van wie ze niet houdt. Ze besluiten dat ze voor elkaar bedoeld zijn en plannen een andere toekomst, een toekomst die op ramkoers ligt met de autoriteiten, en beginnen een gekke affaire.

Mitu and Elena get to know each other in the course of a vodka drinking contest and discover that they are both dissatisfied with the status quo. Mitu is about to begin military service and Elena is to be married to a man she does not love. They decide they are meant for each other and plan on a different future, one that is on a collision course with the authorities, and start a mad affair.

Un jour d'été dans la périphérie de Bucarest, Norica, jeune serveuse et Mitou se rencontrent, se provoquent, et jouent à qui boira le plus. Le lendemain, Mitou ne se rappelle de rien. Que s'est-il passe entre eux ? En tout cas il est amoureux mais Norica doit épouser Gili, son amant et patron, et Mitou doit partir à l'armée. Sa passion pour Norica va le pousser à des actes extrêmes, et surtout inconcevables pour la société dans laquelle ils vivent.

La periferia Bucureștiului, o zi toridă de vară. Norica, o chelneriță, și Mitu, un porcar, se întâlnesc, se tachinează reciproc și fac concurs să vadă cine ține mai mult la băutură. Legătura lor nu e doar o aventură de o noapte. Ar putea ajunge la căsătorie, dacă Norica n-ar vrea să se mărite cu Gili, șeful și iubitul ei la vreo 50 de ani, și dacă Mitu n-ar trebui să facă doi ani de armată. Pasiunea lui Mitu pentru Norica îl va face să intre în belele: mânat de obsesia pentru ea, comite ceva de neiertat. Resorturile societății intră în mișcare și încep să vâneze cuplul...

Мицу — свинопас. Однажды, возвращаясь домой, он видит Норику — официантку в придорожном трактире. Он сразу же влюбляется в нее, и они решают остаться вместе, несмотря на протесты хозяина заведения и приказ о призыве на военную службу. Главный герой дезертирует из армии и женится в церкви на любимой девушке. Беглеца ловит военная полиция и случайно застреливает. А спустя некоторое время, Норика приходит в ту же церковь, чтобы крестить новорожденного ребенка.
