In the bleak near future Los Angeles has become a dangerous war zone with cops pitted against assorted law-breaking lowlifes. Sergeant Arliss Ryder (well played with customary wired intensity by the always great Wings Hauser) has an electronic device put into his back that turns him into an out-of-control psychotic killer and put on the Strike S.Q.U.A.D. (an acronym for Scum Quelling Assault Urban Devision), which is a unit of crazed cops assigned by Captain Bill Quinton (a typically gruff Alex Cord) to rid the City of Angels of criminals by using any means necessary. The only problem is that Arliss discovers what's going down and decides to put a stop to all this madness.

Ganz Los Angeles ist in Angst und Schrecken. Der Mob ist dabei die Macht zu übernehmen. Und Westwood, das Revier von Sergeant Ryder ist das heißeste Pflaster der City. Kein Bürger ist mehr sicher. Einbrüche, Überfälle und Vergewaltigung sind an der Tagesordnung. Die reguläre Polizei ist hilflos, nur die mit Sonderrechten gestattete Spezialeinheit S.Q.U.A.D. kann Ruhe und Ordnung wieder herstellen. Immer wieder schlagen sie blitzschnell und gnadenlos zu. Dealer, Zuhälter und Krimi stehen auf der "Abschußliste". Als die Zahl der Todesschüsse zunimmt, stellt Ryder zufällig fest, daß der ganzen Einheit Mikrochips eingepflanzt wurden. Er und seine Kollegen sind nur noch "willenlose Killermaschinen", die ein Unbekannter steuert...

V nie príliš vzdialenej budúcnosti sa stane z Los Angeles jedno veľké bojové pole. Polícia má plné ruky práce s neustále rastúcou kriminalitou. Seržant Arliss Ryder (Wings Hauser) nedávno utrpel počas služby zranenie a teraz po doliečení ho presunuli k novej špeciálnej jednotke zvanej SQUAD. Tak ako aj ostatní príslušníci jednotky, aj on dostal počas operácie do chrbtice mikročip, ktorý v ňom stimuluje agresivitu. Seržant sleduje, že jeho noví kolegovia sa pod vplyvom „malého vylepšenia“ skôr správajú ako zvieratá než ľudia a že aj on sám sa postupne mení v jedného z nich. Stihne to šialenstvo zastaviť skôr ako bude neskoro?
