Met behulp van een combinatie van documentaire en fictie onderzoekt filmmaker Portabella de taal van experimentele cinema. De man (Christopher Lee) heeft hallucinerende dwalingen door Barcelona, waarbij hij onder andere een museum met opgezette vogels bezoekt. In de climax van de film krijgt Lee van Portabella de opdracht niets te doen, waarbij een lange improvisatie volgt.
