Things we learned from ZULU DAWN

- The Zulu word for "Hey Guard! Come here so I can kill you and escape!" is "Unala Lamatalat!"
- British sentries were easily distracted by waving to reinforcements every time they enter the camp.
- Bullets run out and bloody spears do not.
- Burt Lancaster was indeed horrible at accents.
- Sir Lancelot himself fought at Isandlwana but unfortunately was not important enough of a player there to follow if he survived or not.
- Congreve Rocket Batteries are best deployed far out and exposed in front of the rest of the supporting infantry.
- Playing dead works in combat only as long as you're willing to keep up the charade.
- You're still capable of fluttering your eyelids post-morten (see Boy Pullen).
- Zulus used throwing spears to kill officers who fell into ravines.
- Trying to shoo off a Zulu Warrior with your pistol after he's just broken into your tent will only result in him leaving once he's killed you.
- The son of the Emperor of all Zululand will still find himself taking orders from other Zulu warriors upon encountering drunken Boers.
- Learn nothing from Irishmen... except how NOT to behave!
- Heavy ammo boxes still had enough buoyancy to float in the Buffalo River.
- Finding out your entire main column has been massacred is not quite as sad as hearing a dog yelping.
