Afterall he does need a comeback badly on film after the Lucas film tainted him and to get rid of the stench Lucas created to be based on Steve Gerber's Marvel creation, maybe a new movie to help rid the memories of the Lucas stinker would be nice.
Afterall we all accepted a talking raccoon and we have the technology now.

Yeah, he's briefly in the movie again. He needs a more prominent role in part 3. He needs to redeem himself after that horrible '80s adaptation.
