Where do people predict this ends up? 900M? BoM predicted a 400M domestic total.
I think 900M would be awesome, but I was expecting 1B.

It's doing better than the first one, which made a crap-ton.

Based on what? GotG are third tier superheroes and even so it might still get to 1B if it will have great legs.

Based on the fact that the 1st one made 750M and had great word of mouth and probably got even more popular after it left theatres? Makes plenty of sense to me.

It will be very close to a billion. Could go either way. It passed 500m WW as of wednesday, so it's definitely on.

Yeah...but that was the first week...it doesn't seem to have terrific legs, tbh. It's slowing down on all fronts world wide and it looks like it will struggle to hit $60 million this 2nd domestic weekend.
All said...it may inch past the first films domestic total but even that isn't guaranteed.
I think this looks like it may end up around $800-820 WW.
It underperformed. A disappointment but not a flop.
