I was a not huge fan of the Doctor Strange movie. The humour was a bit off, and Cumberbatch lacked charisma for me. In this film I felt like I was seeing Doctor Strange for the first time. He was much more serious, and had a tremendous presence. He was like some kind of amalgamation of Christopher Reeves and Vincent Price.
I would like to see the Russos direct a Doctor Strange film after watching this. I think he would need a kind of Watson like character though. Basically, he is kind of like Sherlock Holmes, in that he is always one step ahead, but you as the audience don't know what his plan is. You need a Watson kind of character to pull that off. They have made Wong too serious and competent to be his Watson.
