I'm not sure it's in the book (never read it), but I wish that that Diato turned into Ultraman not a Gundam in the movie. The time limit doesn't make sense with a Gundam, but makes perfect sense with Ultraman (who could only keep his form for a limited time, and the beeps the Gundam made when it's time limit was up was the same that Ultraman makes). It was the one reference that threw me off in the movie. Also I wish he counted to 3 before throwing the Holy Hand Grenade, it's a strict rule in its use in in Monty Python's Holy Grail movie.
