When corporations are multi-billion dollar industries, who knows to what degree they are able to transcend the law, and basic human rights?

Therein lies the beauty of fiction. Worrying about pesky things such as the law aren't pre-requisites to telling a good story

Exactly. This is a world where this is legal, OK? Just go with it for half a friggin' second in your life FFS.

You live in a world where you can "transition" a kid's sex "gender" and the premise of this movie seems implausible to you?

Sex and gender are not the same thing.
