Matias is a soccer referee. He promised his dying mother never to lie. When he referees a match of the spanish national team and there is a clear penalty against Spain in the last minute of the game he has no choice and marks the foul. As a result Spain does not qualify for the world championship and Matias is forced to escape from the rage of the people. He hides in the town of his father which he hasn't visited since his childhood.

Matías es un juez de línea. Prometió a su madre en el lecho de muerte que nunca mentiría. Cuando arbitra un partido de la selección nacional española de fútbol y ésta comete un penalti en el último minuto, no le queda otro remedio que ser fiel a su promesa y pitarlo. Por culpa de ello España no se clasifica para el mundial y Matías se ve obligado a huir para que no le linchen. Acaba refugiándose en el pueblo de su padre alcohólico, al que hace años que no ve, y en el que todos se dedican al contrabando.
