Suicide Squad- Jared Leto to Joaquin?

I'm confused, why do they have two people playing the joker?

It's gonna be confusing but basically this film takes place is a separate DC universe outside of Suicide Squad. It's a different take on the Joker with a different origin story. The even more confusing thing is it's unsure whether Jared Leto will continue to play The Joker in the other DC universe or if the role will be recast.
