Agreed, the first two were a lot of fun; the same kind of fun the Indiana Jones movies were -- simply entertaining, without taking themselves too seriously. That's rare, unfortunately. The third movie was complete rubbish IMO. I like Maria Bello, but they shouldn't have recast the role when Rachel Weisz (wisely) declined to return; better if they'd written another role for her or better yet dropped the whole turd.
I just re-watched the first one recently, hadn't seen it in years; I was also kind of surprised how most of the special effects holds up quite well for a movie made almost 20 years ago.
Me too, which isn't hard at all -- I hardly remember anything of it, except facepalming at some CGI yetis and at some point towards the end falling asleep in the theater. I think Michelle Yeoh was in it too, but I can't be bothered to look it up.
Finally got around to watching The Mummy again as an adult, and it's even better than I remember. The OST, Brendan Fraser, the comedy, the action and adventure.....my God, it's so many things packed into one and they all work together flawlessly.
yes - for 1 & 2 as well. and agree on so many things packed into one.
when this came out i watched it 3-4 times in the cinema like when the trailer played in the tv i will ask my mom to go back and watch it again lol
As an adult - still watchable (though more into 1 than 2), memorised most of the lines and love chanting in a low voice: ** Imhotep** whenever i see something related to mummies or saying Anack su namun
Plus all of the characters - so perfect! Love the Benny & Rick relationship, even the guy from prison who went with them - I am here to protect my investment, thank you very much!
I rewatched it again. Yes, it still holds up well with its humor and action sequences. I do not have any desire to watch 2 or Scorpion King. I haven’t seen the 2017 Tom Cruise film, but heard it was awful.

The first 2 were quite fun, the third movie, not so much and 'The Scorpion King' was just crap!

I have what is called 'The Mummy' trilogy, bought it for $10.00 at Target about 4 years ago. I should pull it out and give it a watch this week.

You know I felt sorry for Imhotep, all he wanted was his girlfriend back!

I remember the First Mummy being one of my top 5 movie to have come out around that time through maybe late 2000s...just a fun adventure flick!
Mummy returns, though good, was not up to par with the first, but was a good additional story.
Tomb of the Dragon Emperor...hmmm...didn't a Yeti do the "its good" Football sign when one of the baddies gets kicked...oh nooooo!

Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are the perfect "Mummy" couple.
