After an atomic explosion blasts the Moon out of Earth orbit, Moonbase Alpha drifts in space, with 300 people on board. When a rescue team from Earth arrives in a faster-than-light space ship, everyone is overjoyed that they can now return to Earth. But Moonbase Commander John Koenig, having undergone an experimental brain soothing process after receiving a concussion in a crash on the Lunar surface, sees not friends from Earth but gruesome monsters which have telepathically caused all others on Alpha to see an illusion of an Earth party. The aliens are desperate for radiation and plan to manipulate the Alphans into detonating nuclear waste on the Lunar surface, reducing the Moon and everyone on it to dust. Un'astronave del tipo Superswift, capace di viaggiare a velocità superiori a quella della luce, si avvicina alla base lunare Alpha. A bordo ci sono tutti gli amici piú cari del personale della colonia spaziale. La notizia portata dall'equipaggio del Superswift è molto importante: il ritorno sul pianeta terra sarà possibile entro breve tempo. Tutti festeggiano felici ma John Koening vede, invece degli amici terrestri, degli orribili mostri alieni in stato di decomposizione. Tutti lo ritengono impazzito ma forse sta dicendo la verità. Destinazione: base lunare Alpha è costituito essenzialmente dalle due parti di "Attenti ai Terrestri", con brevi sequenze di "Separazione", "Psycon", "Golos" ed una immagine de "Il cervello spaziale", per 96 minuti complessivi. Preparato dalla ITC Entertainment sull'onda del successo di Star Wars, il film fu distribuito al cinema in Europa riscuotendo un certo successo.
