Donald is leading a scout troop consisting of his nephews on a hike in the woods. Donald isn't nearly the expert on the woods that he thinks he is, much to the amusement of the boys. In a bid for sympathy, he douses himself in catsup and fakes injury; the boys bandage him so thoroughly he can't see, and he stumbles into a pot of honey, and is soon getting all too much attention from a bear.

Donald est le chef d'une troupe scoute constituée par ses neveux Riri, Fifi et Loulou. Ils partent en expédition dans la forêt. Donald n'est malheureusement pas l'expert de la vie au milieu des arbres qu'il croit. Ses neveux en profitent, le ligotent et lui masquent les yeux. Dans ses tentatives de se libérer, il renverse un pot de miel qui attire un ours.

Donald führt eine Pfadfindergruppe, bestehend aus seinen drei Neffen, auf eine Wanderung durch die Wälder. Donald ist nicht annähernd der Experte für die Wälder für den er sich hält und das sehr zur Belustigung der Jungs. In seinem Bemühen um Mitgefühl übergießt er sich mit Ketchup und täuscht eine Verletzung vor. Die Jungs bandagieren ihn so gründlich, dass er nichts mehr sehen kann und in einen Honigtopf stolpert. Kurz darauf erhält er von einem Bär mehr Aufmerksamkeit als er sich wünscht.

Paperino e i nipoti Qui, Quo e Qua sono in una spedizione di scautismo al parco nazionale di Yellowstone, con Paperino che agisce in qualità di capo scout. I paperi marciano in stile militare cantando "Polly Wolly Doodle". Arrivando al loro campo, Paperino tenta invano di insegnare ai ragazzi come comportarsi nella natura. Egli cerca di abbattere un albero pietrificato e di piantare la tenda con dei nodi sbagliati, facendo ridere i nipoti.

Donald, wraz z Hyziem, Dyziem i Zyziem, w ramach skautingu wybiera do lasu. Problemy zaczynają się, gdy trzeba rozbić obóz.
