It seems a bit odd to not have even very basic information like the mother is missing, so they can avoid questions about mummy etc. Also how come the guy doesn't have father or mother? If he is 35 they should be still quite young, maybe not even retired and the most difficult stuff is already done, kid is quite self sufficient so they would be for sure feed him and learn with him.

And I agree with the father the screening process seemed to be pretty bad, especially the last couple not giving even fucking toy to kid FFS.

What was wrong with the first couple btw.? They seem to be nice normal people, just maybe a bit isolated place.

Not sure if single mom is the best choice, doesn't seem like big improvement from single dad, she will have to work and someone else will have to watch kid all the time, I get if kid seems OK with her it's not that bad (it was quite clear she will be chosen once the kid said "rocks"), but he said he wants normal family with 2 parents.

Also the postman family although a bit simpleton seemed like decent people (besides problems with selfcontrol, both overeating fatsos).
