Despite her success as a professional flute player and the constant attention of men around her, Susan Berlanger feels insecure because of her lame right leg. During a European tour, she decides to cover her leg with a cast to see how people will react to her as a nondisabled person.

Susan es una intérprete de orquesta clásica con dificultad para encontrar pareja y relacionarse, culpa de esto a un problema motriz que le dificulta el caminar de modo normal. Se le ocurre reemplazar el aparato que le da estabilidad a su pierna por un yeso y experimentar el ser tratada como una persona "normal" en vacaciones. Este "nuevo yo" le permite liberarse y abrirse a nuevas relaciones, pero también a mentir sobre su realidad.
