Set in the near future, Rina lives a wandering life and she meets Ema. Ema becomes a mentor for Rina and Rina begins to work for Ema. Her job is called body works, which is to plasticize dead bodies for people who lost loved ones. 本作の舞台は、そう遠くない未来。放浪生活を送っていた主人公リナは師となるエマと出会い、化粧品会社エターニティ社で“ボディワークス”という仕事に就く。それは最愛の存在を亡くした人々のために、遺体を生きていた姿のまま保存できるように施術（プラスティネーション）するもの。一方、エマの弟である天才科学者・天音はその技術を発展させ、姉と対立しながら「不老不死」の研究を進めていた。そして30歳になったリナは不老不死の処置を受け、永遠の命を得る。だが、やがて不老不死が当たり前となった世界は人類を二分化し、混乱と変化を生み出していくのだった。
