Discuss Jodie Foster

For me they would have to be (in no particular order)

The Silence of the Lambs
Contact
The Brave One
Maverick

Her best acting performance:

Mesmerized.

The Little Girl that Lived Down the Lane

Bugsy Malone

Carney

The Silence of the Lambs

Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore

Taxi Driver

Foxes

I'm afraid I haven't seen any of Jodie's directorial efforts.

As far as films she's acted in, I live by:

The Silence of the Lambs

Taxi Driver

Those are 2 crucial films, I think I'd even be right in calling them iconic.

The Silence of the Lambs

Taxi Driver

Bugsy Malone

Good choices everyone

Do 3 of 5 vote for Taxi just because it's widely (and in the US officially if I remember right) considered to be 'art' and if its not on your list people may think you are no true movie buff or because you like the plot/movie? At least I would like to know why someone sees her like 10 minutes in Taxi as super impressive to state it on 1-3 list.

I see her role in Taxi Driver as a mature performance from a young actress even though she was a child star. I have also listed her performance in Bugsy Malone and I am in a minority. I do not like that film.

She made enough of an impact in her small roll to get an Oscar nomination, it was a career changing performance for her, imo and I happily stand by my choice(s). Oh and I love Bugsy Malone too! smile_cat

My 3 favorite Jody Foster movies are Maverick, Contact, that movie that movie Spike Lee directed (sorry, I can't remember the title).

Inside Man (which despite of being an entertaining movie also has some cool title graphics design)

Thanks for your answer. About an hour after I posted this I remembered part of the title.

BTW, this is the first reply I've gotten since I signed up for this (I used to be on the IMDb board.

Ah, yes, forgot about Maverick. That's definitely one of my top 5 performances by her and an overall great movie.

Welcome to the Movie DB Maria. I'm known as BulletProofPoet at the IMDB.

Pleased to meet you, BulletProofPoet.

Glad to see someone appreciating her performance in Maverick. So different from anything she's ever done and it must have been challenging for her, especially for the change in her voice.
