Biography

As of the start of 2024, Randy has wrapped shooting his 12th feature called "Loose Ends Down" with longtime filmmaking partner John Luksetich and is also completing post-production on the British folk horror tale, "Bring Me A Skin For Dancing In", which will mark the 4th collaboration with the UK based production company, Black Coppice Films. Expect both films to release in 2024.

After a successful theatrical run in Bangalore, India last year, the Kannada film "Road King" will make it's worldwide streaming debut in 2024. This one-of-a-kind experiment was directed exclusively over Skype from Los Angeles and shot on location in Bangalore and racked up numerous award wins all around the world.

He is also finishing up post-production on the sure-to-be-controversial television mini-series, "Cafe in the Void". Co-directed & produced alongside John Luksetich, this "of-the-times" fantasy/comedy/drama is the biggest production they have done to date and set for a 2023 release.

Along with that, Randy is celebrating the release of the UK based horror film, "Demons At Dawn" along with the horror/comedy, "Chinese Speaking Vampires", both currently available across multiple VOD platforms.

Throughout his career, Randy has garnered multiple awards as a producer, director and editor in the commercial and film arena. With his keen ability to make a little go a long way and look like it was made for a lot, Randy has earned a reputation for the work he has created across every genre and in many different countries - from his beginnings in the Atlanta comedy world, to directing heavy dramas in India over a computer, shooting tight thrillers in the streets of Holland, making straight-up horror in Buffalo and England, and then smaller, more experimental work he has done in his hometown of Los Angeles.

Other recent projects out in the world include the first season of the BLK Prime web series, "Sweet As Pye"; The 1970s throwback thriller, "Blood Tulips", that is now setting up special screenings; And the indie feature, "Shadow Of The Monarch", which is available across most VOD platforms like Amazon Prime, DirecTV and iTunes.

Kent won several Best Director awards for "Road King"; Best Film Maker and Best Short Film at the Glendale International Film Festival for "The Pursuit", Best Experimental Short Film and an Award of Merit for "Forgotten" and a Silver Ace Award at the Las Vegas International Film Festival for the feature film, "Life Of Lemon". Other awards include 2 Best Director and Best Feature Film Awards at 2 different festivals for the horror anthology feature, "The Perfect House" and an Audience Choice Award for Best Short Film for the short, "Timmy, The Bag Boy". A planned feature film version of "Timmy" is now in the works along with several other feature and short projects.

Randy shot Bagboy Productions first feature film, "Life, Death & Mini-Golf", in the summer of 2002. The production was an entirely self-financed project and now sells on Amazon and various other sites. Filmed in three locations in 12 days, this drama ensemble stars comedy superstar actress, Kristen Wiig.
