Biography

Er. Tomar V moved to Canada in 2002 to study Visual Effects from Vancouver Film School (VFS), and then also outperformed the Film Production course at VFS. The son of an engineer, he also earned B.E. in computer science and engineering from MSRIT, Bangalore University.

Taking advantage of his computers degree and creative instincts, he founded his first startup, Pixel Galaxy Studio, way back in 1995 for visual effects, but soon realized it was an expensive affair, he took up his first job as a visual effects supervisor at IIS Visionworks under the mentorship of Dr. Sunil Singh, an expert in virtual actors in virtual environments, and worked on the Jurassic Park (1993) concept inception for Steven Spielberg.

He has contracted an animation feature film in 2002, but just after producing the teaser, he decided to pursue his dream to study at VFS and relocated to Vancouver. At Newley founded Pixel Galaxy, Canada, he won his 1st film contract as VFX director, for Shelf Life (2004) followed by Folklore (2007) which won 2 awards.

In Vancouver, he also co-founded and spearheaded a gaming and VFX college, which was further franchised to several centers in China, India, Korea, and Canada

He then wrote a concept, i Déjà vu, and later directed and produced Philosophy and i Déjà vu (2020), a documentary web-series which runs around the philosophy of ancient civilization to citadels to cities and towns to future cities, showcasing a journey of self-realization. What appears an end, might be a new beginning of this journey, starring historians, neurologists, and several other domain experts.

During the coronavirus pandemic, Er. Tomar V produced and directed a documentary on his beloved mother in her memory, VVe Being Donna: The Light, the Dark (2020).
