Joost Klein, known mononymously as Joost, is a Dutch musician, rapper, singer and former YouTuber. Mainly a hip hop artist, his songs and performances often include influences of electronic music, such as drum and bass, hardstyle and gabber. He has released eight studio albums, two of which reached the top ten of the Dutch Albums Top 100. He has amassed four chart entries on the Dutch Top 40, and is best known for "Scandinavian Boy", "Wachtmuziek" and "Friesenjung". He represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with the song "Europapa", which became his first song to top the Dutch Single Top 100. Having qualified from the semi-final, he was scheduled to perform fifth in the grand final, but was disqualified by the European Broadcasting Union amidst allegations of misconduct. Hij is in Nederland onder andere bekend van de nummers Scandinavian Boy, Wachtmuziek, Ome Robert en Friesenjung en de albums M van Marketing, Albino en 1983. Hij was de Nederlandse inzending voor het Eurovisiesongfestival van 2024 in Malmö met het lied Europapa en waar hij als eerste deelnemer ooit gediskwalificeerd werd. |
