I'd really like to see this addressed. I won't (nor should anyone else) invest the time to recreate this movie's entry until its removal is explained.

I'm sure it's been said before: TMDB needs tombstones so there is a lasting record of why a particular work should not exist in a particular form.

I don't see any message referring to this title. If you're saying that this was removed because it's part of a TV series, then please see my comments above. It had a theatrical and DVD release before it was ever picked up for TV.

Hi, the link above was to the wrong message. As I can't find a delete message for this movie it means it was deleted without the TMDb Support designation added, meaning only you and the moderator who deleted it can see it.

New wrinkle: It appears this movie was updated and re-released in 2015 as "Harper Lee: From Mockingbird to Watchman" following the publication of Lee's "Go Set a Watchman". It's on TMDB at https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/429406-harper-lee-from-mockingbird-to-watchman and has taken the IMDb ID for "Hey, Boo: Harper Lee & To Kill a Mockingbird". I haven't watched the updated version, so I don't know how significantly it differs from the original. But their runtimes are basically the same, so I'm guessing the changes aren't huge. The filmmaker's website and the distributor's website both list only the updated version, with acknowledgement of the prior version. But the original is still available - currently streaming on Tubi - in addition to the festival and DVD releases noted above.

Possibilities as I see them:

1. Do nothing.
2. Continue re-creating the original 2011 version as a separate entry and reassign it IMDb ID tt1638979.
3. Change the Original Title of movie/429406 (the updated version) to "Hey, Boo: Harper Lee & To Kill a Mockingbird", make "Harper Lee: From Mockingbird to Watchman" an Alternative Title, and add Release Dates for the original 2011 version.

FWIW, an Amazon reviewer compared the two DVDs and described the changes this way: "[Writer/producer/director Mary McDonagh Murphy] adds a short section at the beginning explaining the “new” book and fills in the end with some interviews with the publicist for the publisher. The core of this film is basically the 2011 film. What is a bit strange is that original ran 85 minutes and – even with the new interviews which bookend the new version, the new DVD runs just 83 minutes. So, my guess is that about 10 minutes was edited out – though I can’t tell what parts. ... I wanted to comment on the “Bonus feature” on the new DVD. It says on the package that: “Mary Murphy visits with Harper Lee in her hometown on June 30,2015”. What actually happened was that Ms. Lee was brought back to Alabama to receive the first copy of the new book and receive an award. She was in a wheel chair and very fragile to speak much. Director Murphy was there and filmed this but you will hear less an 60 seconds from Ms. Lee’s lips. The rest of the 12 minute bonus consists of updated interviews with – and the publisher’s rep and Ms. Lee’s friends and benefactors, plus comments from famous authors."
