This makes me nostalgic for my childhood sitting in front of the TV in the 1950s. This show is not really a sitcom, but more of a dramedy: mostly drama, but w/touches of comedy. But irrespective of how it is classified, it is a heartwarming show that feels so real. And Gertrude Berg was amazing: she wrote and starred in the show, and deservedly won a Best Actress Emmy Award in 1950. It's currently playing on The Film Detective channel on the Sling Blue streaming service. Catch it if you can.
