Discuss Cher

Holy cow, this was 43 years ago (it was from February 1975). She had Bette Midler, Flip Wilson, & Elton John as guests.

OMG, I feel so old.

I was always a fan of The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour and The Sonny and Cher Show, back when they were on, but forgot all about that this show ever existed - though no doubt watched it, too.

I had forgotten about it too. It had 2 short seasons.

There used to be quite an array of variety shows that aired in primetime back during that era, since beginning, I think, sometime during the '60s.

Before dilution, there were a number of good family variety shows. I recall seeing a Smothers Brothers LP in my stack and Skitch Henderson.

So there's someone else here that is old as dirt?

Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In was one of my faves during my growing-up years. You bet your sweet bippee it was. grin

Definitely The Smothers Brothers! Fan here!

And a US version of Carnaby Twiggy.

I even had the Twiggy Sassoon cut in the 60's.

I was born in the early 50's.

I was born at the very start of the '60s, and typically didn't "get" the hidden actual meanings of suggestive jokes (of which there were many) on t.v. by the late '60s, though they were very funny either way, so always enjoyed the comedy and variety shows.

Was this the show where she introduced Greg ???

And then divorced him a few weeks or months later???

FOUND THIS:

It's a clip from the show where she introduces him and sings with him.

It was the last episode (#13, May 11, 1975) of the first season, before they tied the knot. They married in June of '75 & divorced in 1978.

According to this her marriage to GREG only lasted for 9 DAYS:

Cher and Allman were married in 1975 just three days after her divorce from her first husband, Sonny Bono, was finalized. Cher and Allman’s marriage lasted for nine days before Cher decided she wanted to end it.

They reconciled about a month later, then Allman filed for divorce, then he found out she was pregnant and reconciled again. But eventually they divorced.
