The story is about an undercover cop who infiltrated a crime family before it was discovered he was a cop. They were going to kill him but he escaped, took a new identity and started a new life in a small town, got married and had a child. When he walked in on an armed robbery and saved a neighbor's life, he became a local hero and his picture went out on the news. The crime family then sent some men to kill him, but they accidentally shot his young son instead. The former cop, Serhat Hakeri, then had a mission to exact revenge on those who killed his son.
I've seen a couple other Turkish revenge shows and I like them, in general. Kacak is a little different from the other two, less soapy.
If you don't mind subtitles, or if you can understand Turkish, you should check it out. Unless it's on Netflix. The series has 52 episodes, but Netflix only carries the first 50. So you never see the resolution to the story, the loose ends are never tied up. the worst bad guy never meets his end, the lovers never get together, nothing is resolved. It is a waste of time to watch this on Netflix.
