西暦2018年、日本突然出现谜之物体“ヘテロダイン”。对于ヘテロダイン发动军队的总攻击却没有任何意义、最终的只有造成使用OE兵器的惨事才终结这件事。 因此为了击退他们而由国连安全保障军（安保军）建造超级机器人“大铁卫”、事件后也订立“界震灾害关连法”并且基于该法律让安保军中对抗ヘテロダイン的部队民营化，让他们移交到以对抗ヘテロダイン为目的民间警备公司“21世纪警备保障”管理、此后的12年间，由于ヘテロダイン并未出现而让它变成“无用的废铁”、就连大铁卫的维修管理也由企画开发部的“宣传2课”把它当作宣传活动的一部分来负责。 不过在西元2030年秋天的某日、热海突然出现ヘテロダイン。刚好在现场的大铁卫驾驶兼21世纪警备保障公司职员的赤木、无视避难命令，起动大铁卫为了灾害支援而出动了。

12년 전, 지구는 거대한 침략자들의 공격을 받았어요. 지구를 지키기 위해 지구 최고의 인재들과 기업들이 모여 놀라운 힘을 가진 거대 로봇을 설계했습니다. 안타깝게도 대부분의 정부 프로젝트와 마찬가지로 최저 입찰자에게 계약이 돌아갔습니다. 다행히도 로봇이 완성되었을 때 침입자들은 이미 흔적도 없이 사라진 뒤였습니다.

이 거대한 로봇은 처음에는 호기심으로, 그다음에는 관광 명소가 되었습니다. 하지만 이제 침략자들이 다시 돌아왔고, 그들을 막는 것은 다이가드와 파트타임 파일럿과 투어 가이드로 수입을 보충하고 있는 젊은 직장인 팀뿐입니다. 이 소심한 영웅들이 외계 적을 막는 동시에 거대 로봇의 결함을 숨길 수 있을까요?

Twelve years ago, the Earth was attacked by giant invaders. To defend our planet, the Earth's greatest minds and corporations assembled to design a giant robot of incredible power. Unfortunately, as with most government projects, the contract went to the lowest bidder. Fortunately, by the time the robot was ready, the mysterious invaders had already disappeared without a trace.

The giant robot became first a curiosity, then a tourist attraction. But now the invaders are back and the only thing in their way is Dai-Guard and a young team of office workers who've been supplementing their regular incomes as part time pilots and tour guides. Can these reluctant heroes halt their alien foes while simultaneously concealing the defects in their giant robot?

Em 24 de fevereiro de 2018, na abertura noroeste do Mar do Japão, uma criatura gigante chamada Heterodyne aparece e entra em fúria, destruindo uma grande cidade e matando inúmeras pessoas antes de ser destruída por uma arma de destruição em massa conhecida como "Bomba O-E (Over-Explosion)". Na sequência, um sistema de armas robótica gigante, codinome Dai-Guard, foi desenvolvido para os militares pela 21st Century Defense Security Corporation como uma alternativa ao uso futuro de tais armas.

Trece años después de su repentina desaparición, unos misteriosos series conocidos como "Heterodyne" reaparecen. Para combatir a estos peligrosos seres, tres trabajadores de una oficina de seguridad pilotan Dai-Guard - un robot gigante que estaba siendo considerado casi como un pisapapeles de gran tamaño. Por desgracia, Dai-Guard es un tanto obsoleto y está en mal estado.

Es un trabajo duro, pero los asalariados también puede salvar el mundo.
