I know what the previous report says and it still doesn't line up with the database's guidelines. As far as I'm aware, the goal is to get it as close to the japanese release as possible but both the Mappa an JJK japanese websites list season 2 seperately. I said arguably 3 because season 2 has different names listed for the arcs, but they're both defined as season 2, not a continuation.

The rules say that, as long as the episodes are numbered consecutively, the episodes should be listed in the same season. This is the case here.

That's a dumb rule, or at least one TMDB staff should reconsider. It's very clearly meant to be the second season, especially since they're marketing it as that and they were released three years apart.
If that's the case, stuff like The Mandalorian should also be compiled just because the episode numbers continue across seasons.
The anime industry is changing, a big part of that is how they're releasing bigger series. Old shonen like One Piece or Naruto was coming out weekly for years. But with new shonen, studios are really emphasizing the seasonal format.
I just feel like not labeling what was very intentionally meant as season 2 is just spreading misinformation/weird/inconsistent from a database's perspective.

This rule is specific for animes.

That's literally my point though, anime as a medium is changing drastically, they're really emphasizing seasonal releases. It would make sense if this emphasis and intention was seen in a database archiving this kind of information.

The admin/mods have set precedent that they clearly disagree with the way the official sources label their own show. Therefore, this site will by definition have a factually incorrect database. This site is the only source on the internet which lists episodes this way. I don't know why, but the admin/mods seem to value their own definition over official sources. When confronted with the question of why this is, they always just answer that it is because of the site rules, and ignore answering why the rules are that way or any part of the question which actually asks the logical reasoning behind the rule. I assume the only reason happens is that they either don't want to directly tell us no because the reason is simply that they prefer it labelled this unofficial way, or that they do not understand that it is incorrect, but I would guess it's the former rather than the latter.
