I remember the miniseries pretty well with Christopher Lee being the head of the survivors and Emma Sams as his daughter, the moment when the diver puts his head up from the water for the first time visiting the wreck and gets shot through his masked freaked me out as a kid .

The extended version is just one long "movie," rather than a 2-part "mini-series." I've never been interested to find out what was cut for the 2-part version. It would have to be quite a bit, since the extended version also doesn't have the part 1 end credits, part 2 opening credits, "previously on..." etc.

Well from what I remember the TV broadcast wad cut at the moment when that divers pulls up his head and gets shot and my guess is that they at that time cut the movie in 2 or 4 pieces and broadcast it as a miniseries.but from what I remember it was pretty good with a good cast good production value.

Really? My recollection was that they split it where "Wesker" (?) is coming into the injured girl's room to inject her with the fatal disease.

Well at those times we only had like two tv channels and various broadcasting companies and the amount of tv time was depended on how many paying subscribers these broadcasting companies had and this was before TV had morning tv and late night tv so the time between those companies were limited so cutting up miniseries of (tv)movies was a thing back then. Most of the times full movies only would be shown on Fridays or Saturdays all those things changed when cable tv became widely available where got 2 Belgium/Dutch tv channels one Belgium french channel three German tv channel and later the commercial German RTL+ and Sky Channel /Music Box and later Super channel and 2 years later we got BBC 1 and two and MTV .

Yes, I meant The Deliberate Stranger. Harmon was so scary as Bundy that I was afraid to watch him in ANYTHING for a few years! Besides, he's gorgeous! He also has the distinction of being the first People Magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive".

Currently watching Cleopatra with Liz Taylor and Richard Burton and noticed John Hoyt as a Roman senator who played the first Doctor in the first pilot The Cage.

I don't know if I mentioned this before (due to the pain pills), but I just saw William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy together in a season one episode of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. BTW, this is the first time I've seen any of the season one TMFU episodes, and they're very good!

Have you gotten to "The Finny Foot Affair" yet? The opening will - or at least should - remind you of "The Andromeda Strain."

No, not yet. But, lol, the title of the pilot was "The Vulcan Affair."

Yes, maybe that's where Jar Jar Abrams got the idea for Spock and Uhura to be boinking, in his movies.
"You want a Vulcan affair? Here you go!"

Cute! The last name of the Villian is Vulcan. Also, The actor who played the Scientist in The Ultimate Computer is in this episode.

No I think that was actually based on how Uhura behaved towards Spock in The Man trap and Charlie X.

Why would she be different? Women on the show were always trying to get "under his skin." It was basically just a game they played. The only one who apparently "succeeded" was Zarabeth. (Unless you count Saavik from the novelization of "The Search For Spock.")
