It actually made it as far as the script that was supposed to have included a shot of Amanda and Saavik watching "The Bounty" leave and Saavik was supposed to be shown pregnant, whether it was actually was shot I don't know for certain but they did mention it in audio commentary

Yes I've heard that too (which would have been at the start of Voyage Home not in Search For...), but since it wasn't actually in the movie I don't refer to it that way. And it also isn't really canon.
Aside from that, how soon are Vulcans supposed to have a "baby bump?" 4 seemingly took place rather soon after 3. That might have been another reason to drop it. Kirk says they're in the third month, is that long enough? Maybe.

From what I understood of STIV that the crew had spend some months on Vulcan before deciding to go back to Earth and face trial.

Last Monday night I saw Nichelle Nichols play a policewoman on the second episode of Mission Impossible's seventh season (I can't remember the name of the episode).

At the end of this episode "Two Thousand" the credits show actress Marian Nichols as Policewoman.
I didn't know that Nichelle Nichols also used that name as an alias.

When I watched the episode at first I wasn't quite sure if it was Nichelle, but it looked like her, and the lady sounded EXACTLY like our beloved Lt. Uhura. I could be wrong. As usual, they had Barney do his "Jamaican/African" accent. BTW, how are you?

Hmmmmm. This is "Marian Nichols'" only screen credit, according to IMDB. It could have been Nichelle, but I don't think anyone has made the connection before.

I think it is Nichelle. Her voice is so recognizable. I don't know why she'd use a different first name, though.

1972 was an in-between time for Nichelle; she probably wasn't making money from conventions, the animated series was a year away, and I believe she was getting a divorce. I imagine she was making a living singing, so any acting job would have been welcome. But, yeah, why would she use Marian? Her birth name was Grace. Leonard Nimoy had left MI by this point, so he probably wasn't arranging work for her. Hmmmmm.

And the way she wore her hair made it looked like she was trying to hide her face. I felt kind of sorry for her. However, although a bit part in an episode of Mission: Impossible isn't as great as being a regular cast member of a series, it's better than being in, let's say, an episode of The Brady Bunch.

Except Brady Bunch might have paid more.
As it happened, I noticed Gates "Dr Crusher" McFadden in an episode of The Cosby Show years ago. She was credited under her birth name, Cheryl. Apparently she used that name up until TNG started.

Speaking of Gates, reading your post reminded me that she was on an episode of Mad About You. And she also was a co-star in a syndicated tv series called "Marker." It aired a couple of years after the end of TNG. The star of the series was Richard Grieco (he was on 21 Jump Street). She played his stepmother.

And she played Alec Baldwin's wife in the Hunt For The Red October

I did not know that! And now that I'm thinking about it, I remember seeing Marina Sirtis on an episode of Stargate SG-1, and an episode of an American cop show called Hunter.

Also Death Wish 3. And more recently she (unrecognizably) played the head of the Israeli Mossad on "NCIS."
