Hollywood loves sequels and to adapt, remake and reboot. Who knew JW would get a 4th and a 5th installment? Now its director is going to reboot HL. Let’s hope it’s as good as JW.

Geekosity: Stahelski was originally announced to direct the Highlander reboot in 2017. He is well known for directing the hyper violent John Wick movies.

We don’t know what the story would be Stahelski is committed to making it into a trilogy. It is somewhat inspired from Star Wars with the high action of John Wick with swords instead of guns. Stahelski explained:

The vision we’re trying to get across and what we’re trying to develop, I equate very close to Star Wars. The first one is a very satisfying ending but it does leave the door open and that’s kind of how I see this. I would really like to expand it over three. I see “The Gathering” happening over three. It’s tricky don’t get me wrong, that’s why we’re still developing it. We want to be able to tell three complete stories that all kind of fit. I think the Star Wars trilogy, at least up to The Empire Strikes Back, is a good example of how we want to process it.

Sounds like HC read the script. Remember the IG pic where he’s reading a script? I think he was reading the HL script but put a sheet with ME stuff on it to fool the Sleuths. The text was the Wiki description of Commander Shepard. Although, ME is still on the list of films in development at Legendary.

We may not get a glimpse. A kilt isn’t a little skirt. It’s a loose, knee-length skirt. HC will sit with his legs open and the kilt will fall between them and cover everything worth seeing.

Cavill says Stahelski’s vision is a more grounded-in-reality take than the original movies and show, and will play a bit more like a modern tragedy, while the director says there were several reasons there could be only one actor for the role.
